Biddy Baxter

WQE College is saddened to hear of the passing of alum, Biddy Baxter. Biddy Baxter attended Wyggeston Girls’ Grammar School, which is now our Regent Road Campus, from 1944-1951. Biddy was a TV producer, best known for editing Blue Peter from 1965-1988, and was a pioneer of children’s television.

Reflections from the WQE Chair: On winning an Award … and five-years as Chair

At the end of June, I Chaired a WQE Corporation meeting for the last time. I had agreed to write a piece for the College website about my five-and-a-bit years as Chair. Instead, and with great pride, my piece can now be about an award which reflects the hard work of so many people across the College!

Sensational 70′ Jubilee Community Awards 2022

We are delighted to share that WQE has been announced as one of the ‘Sensational 70 ‘, a group who will receive one of the 70 Queen’s Platinum Jubilee awards in our region for ‘outstanding efforts to improve their local communities’ .

FutureWISE returns for the first time since 2019!

The College is delighted to have been rated as a Good Sixth Form College, with Good ratings achieved in all assessed categories.

WQE Sport students celebrate Disability Sport

On Thursday 17th March, students studying Sport were given the opportunity to take part in a Disability Sport workshop exploring inclusive sports and the impacts disabilities can have on individuals.

WQE College supports Leicester Foxes Cricket Club

WQE College are pleased to announce that they will be working closely with the newly found Leicester Foxes Cricket Club. The Cricket club will work closely with the College to support the development of our students and talented players in the local area.
