Course Overview

Entry Qualifications

A minimum of five GCSEs, or equivalent, at grade A* – C or 4 – 9 including English Language, and a minimum of a grade 4 in Maths.

What will I study?

You will complete four units within the year. These consist of a range of units including:

• The Business Environment

• Business Decisions

• International Business

• Customers and Communication

• Marketing and Market Research

In addition you will study a range of other business courses.

How will I study?

This course really focuses on the vocational aspects of Business so you will find a lot of teaching is based on case studies, application to a variety of different businesses, visiting speakers, role plays and visits to industry. You will also be expected to undertake a two week work experience placement.

How is the course examined?

Students will be assessed by a mixture of coursework and tasks set by the exam board. Successful completion of all units is required.

Where next?

Cambridge Technical qualifications earn you UCAS points and are therefore valued by universities allowing you to take on HND/ HNC, foundation degree course or honours degree. Students can go into a wide range of employment, including retail, finance, HR and marketing.

What does the course combine well with?

Other vocational Extended Certificate courses or an A Level may be taken alongside the Diploma route.

Equivalents

Qualification is equivalent to 2 A Levels.
