Entry Qualifications
A minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4 – 9 including English Language and Mathematics. Students will be required to re-take English or Mathematics if necessary.
What will I study?
The curriculum develops a broad set of musical theatre skills, knowledge and understanding making demands on the student’s body and brain. We mix this qualification with a focus on training for further education and auditions.
How will I study?
Students are required to complete varied assignments all focused on musical theatre and other related subjects. Alongside the core subjects, students will develop skills by devising performance work and working together as a performance company and researching aspects of the performing arts industry.
How is the course examined?
This qualification is assessed through 4 learning modules. These include practical, theoretical, and performance-based assessment.
Where next?
This course will equip students for further study at Drama Schools, Colleges and Universities. The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma is the equivalent of 3 A Levels.
What does the course combine well with?
This is a full-time course. Students have the opportunity to complete BTDA Vocational Examinations in Classical Ballet, Modern Jazz and Tap.
