I am passionate about education and firmly believe that university is the place where people can explore their true potential and transform their lives into something to be proud of.  I have over 20 years’ experience of working within the Higher Education Sector in a variety of roles which has given me a deep understanding of how universities work and what they need to do to succeed in the current context of the sector.

I currently lead a Directorate for De Montfort University (DMU) that is focused on engagement with organisations, partners, businesses and the communities we work with to deliver our strategic mission, to create a fairer society and to provide the best student experience.

In my professional role, I strive to connect communities with one another and work on projects, initiatives and events that bring benefit to the university and to the city and county of Leicester and Leicestershire.  I am DMU’s lead for the Universities Partnership bringing together the three universities in the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland region to work with the local authorities to create positive change for those communities.

In my role as a Governor for WQE I hope to bring this passion for young people’s education to support the growth and development of the College.  I am also hoping to use my skills around partnership working to be able to connect individuals and organisations with the College who can support its mission and vision and achieve success for its students.
