I joined the Corporation as a Parent Governor in 2010. I was also Vice-Chair for two years. As a parent I fully understand the worries and concerns students and parents have when considering the College and during this important time in their life. I believe WQEIC is an outstanding college with a positive and friendly atmosphere. Students are treated as adults and have responsibilities and is support available. That’s’ why I chose it with my son and daughter. Both successfully went onto University. My son gained a First and my daughter started university in 2020 in the middle of the Covid pandemic.
I bring a range of experiences to the Corporation having worked in both the private and public sector, engaging closely with community and voluntary groups that has provided an insight so that I can effectively challenge and support senior managers at the College. I am a Civil Servant and have worked for several departments including the Department for Education and Department for Work and Pensions. I am currently working on the national Covid response.
I am passionate about lifelong learning, improving skills and offering the best opportunity to aspire.
My expertise lies in partnership engagement, equality and diversity and compliance.
I am a football fan and lifelong Leicester City Football fan.
