As Teaching Staff Governor, I believe I have the skills and experience to represent the teaching staff at WQE effectively and work with the governing body to contribute to the ongoing success of the College.
I have worked at the College since January 2010.
I originally joined as a media teacher at Regent College. I was keen to progress in my career and after covering two different temporary management posts in the ACE division I became the Curriculum Leader for Business. This post was very rewarding and gave me the chance to create a positive learning experience for the students and contribute to the overall success of the college. I achieved the NPQML and NPQSL qualifications during this time, working with other middle and senior leadership colleagues across the College and other teaching establishments. Following the merger with WQE, I worked as Deputy Curriculum Area Lead in the new Business, Economics and Finance department.
As Teaching Staff Governor, I strive to clearly represent the views of all teaching staff from all curriculum areas. I feel that governance plays a vital role in providing the support and scrutiny that is essential to the College- of which I am immensely proud to have served as a teacher for the past 13 years. I believe my involvement will contribute to the continuing success of the College and support its work in delivering outstanding outcomes and life chances to young people.
