WQE College are pleased to announce that they will be working closely with the newly found Leicester Foxes Cricket Club. The Cricket club will work closely with the College to support the development of our students and talented players in the local area.
The Chairman of the Club is Zuber Mohtat , a WQE Sport & PE Teacher, who was motivated to give back to the sport. There are limited Cricket facilities in the city and the few facilities that are available, are oversubscribed and costly. It is hoped that the formation of the club will promote participation of the sport from all backgrounds.
Zuber Mohtat said ”I am thrilled that the College has supported our vision of starting a local Cricket club that will nurture talent in the College and in the local area; and allow an avenue for people to socialise and make new friends. I would like to thank the College for being supportive of the idea. As a former WQE student I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing Cricket at the College and I hope this club will encourage students to take up the sport.”
Training sessions are held on Sundays from 10:30am-1pm at WQE College – Regent Road Campus Sports Hall. All students are actively encouraged to attend. The club will be playing in the Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket league in the coming 2022 season.
If you are interested in joining or training with the club in the upcoming season then email Zuber Mohtat on zuber.mohtat@wqe.ac.uk
