The College operates across two closely located campuses, next to the University of Leicester on University Road and a smaller campus at Regent Road.
We are looking to appoint a well-qualified, self-motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of Chemistry and Applied Science, who will help us provide the best possible learning experiences and outcomes for our students. It is planned that this post will be based with our team at the University Road Campus.
There is the potential of progression to the role of Assistant Curriculum Leader for any interested candidates, this can be discussed at interview. This will have a responsibility allowance Band one, which equates to £1,391 per annum.
THE CURRICULUM AREA
Staff
The Biology, Chemistry and Applied Science (BCAS) team currently comprises fifteen highly experienced and dedicated teaching staff and six laboratory technicians.
Courses
The BCAS department delivers AQA A level Biology and Chemistry, AQA GCSE Biology and Chemistry, and the Pearson BTEC Applied Science Diploma and will be running the AAQ in Applied Science from September 2025.
Resources
Major laboratory refurbishment throughout the sciences has taken place recently. We now have an exceptional well-resourced curriculum area.
For our part we shall make every effort to support our new colleagues in making the best of the professional opportunities offered by this post.
This is a permanent term time, 0.8 – 1FTE post, commencing January 2026 or earlier if possible.
The salary will be at a point on the Sixth Form Colleges pay spine which ranges from £32,178 – £49,725.
