Well done to our Foundation and Transition programme students on gaining great results in 2026

Well done to our Foundation and Transition programme students on gaining great results in 2026.

Congratulations to students on our Foundation and Transition programmes, who have been taking qualifications to support their progression to advanced level qualifications. There have been some fantastic results again this year.

Those re-taking English Language GCSE’s have again done brilliantly this year, with 63% gaining this qualification at the vital grade 4 or better, despite having previously achieved grade 3 or below when in year 11. This is again very significantly above the national average for these qualifications and continues a record of strong results achieved in this vital passport qualification in recent years. Similarly in GCSE Mathematics, students performed well above the level of their peers nationally with almost a third gaining a high pass grade.

The pass rate in vocational level 2 qualification was 85%, with over half being awarded the high grades of Merit and Distinction, which are key to enabling their progression to higher levels in their chosen vocational areas.

Our small cohort of students on entry level programmes have also done brilliantly to develop their English, Numeracy and employability skills, with almost all finishing their courses and 92% passing these foundation qualifications and skills.

These results place the students involved in an ideal position to take their next steps in education and to facilitate access to higher levels of study.  We are delighted that this will now open the door into advanced levels for so many who had these ambitions, and that the hard work of those students, alongside the support from parents, carers and our staff has paid off.

There will undoubtedly be a few days of celebration now, before these students take all they have learnt to the next level and will challenge themselves again in the year ahead.
