Prevent

At WQE we take our prevent duty extremely seriously and work closely with all external agencies to ensure the safety of our college community and beyond.

A community safeguarding programme

Prevent is about safeguarding and supporting those vulnerable to radicalisation. Prevent is 1 of the 4 elements of CONTEST, the Government’s counter-terrorism strategy. It aims to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism.

Text reads: Leicester Prevent YOUNG LEADERS in bold and regular black font on a white background, highlighting the importance of safeguarding.

At WQE, students have the opportunity to become a Prevent Young Leader. A Prevent Young Leader is a student volunteer who helps promote safety, inclusion and awareness around issues such as radicalisation, extremism and safeguarding within the college community.
