Level 3 Results Day 2024

Congratulations to our students on their incredible results in 2024.

After two years of hard work and dedication, our final year students have achieved some impressive A Level results again this year, supporting their progression into higher education and their chosen careers.  They will be rightly proud of their results and many other attributed successes. The overwhelming majority of students have now been able to confirm their higher education places, including for some of the most competitive courses.  Their talent and resilience have enabled these students to take every challenge along the way in their stride, as well as flourishing personally and as young professionals ready to take their next steps with confidence.

97.8% of students achieved an Advanced Level pass grade.  74.3% also gained a high A*-C grade this year at GCE A level and 81% of Advanced level vocational students achieved an equivalent high-grade.  Furthermore, 16 students were awarded the highest possible A* and Distinction* grades in all three or more of their courses, whilst a further 97 also achieved a full set of at least A and equivalent grades and above.

For most, we know that their progression will now be on to higher levels of study at university, while others will have plans to develop their professional careers directly in the workplace, such as through apprenticeships.

By the morning of results being released, 269 students had already secured their place at one of the most prestigious Sutton 30 Universities, up more than 50 on the same point last year and continuing a rising trend over recent years.

The college is extremely proud to have a key focus on preparing young professionals and by results morning alone, 57 were already confirmed with places to study Law, 59 to study Accountancy, 55 to study Engineering, and 31 to study Economics, Banking or Actuarial Sciences.  Large numbers are heading into medical fields at university too, with 16 securing places for medicine, Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Science, with a further 19 to Biomedical Sciences and 30 heading to study Nursing, Midwifery or Paramedic Sciences.

Whatever their next steps, the WQE staff and I wish every progressing student continued success.  The 2024 cohort have really earned their successes and they will rightly spend some time in the coming days celebrating, as well as looking ahead to realising some long-held ambitions and exciting next steps.
