Level 2 Results Day 2024

Following on from the great successes of our advanced level students, it has also been a very positive year for our students studying at Level 2 and below this year, with a big rise in completion and achievement by those following Level 2 Vocational courses, and 97% passed these courses this year.

At GCSE, the completion and achievement rates also rose again, with even more gaining the highest grades than last year too (c+6% points more students gained a grade 4-9).  Most notably, Maths and English GCSE high grade results were yet again incredibly strong and rose again (c+5% points up in combined English and Maths GCSE high grades achieved). Vitally, 39 % of WQE students who began their post 16 studies with a grade 3 or below in Maths converted this to a grade 4 or above within the year, which is an incredible 22 percentage points above the national average for doing so.

In English Language GCSE, this was even stronger with 63% converting their previous grade to the highest 4-9 grades, which is an incredible 42 percentage points more than the average achieving this nationally this year. Finally, whilst only very small numbers follow a Level 1 or Entry level course at WQE, these students have also made huge strides forward, with completion and achievement rates up again to 85% overall, supporting progression to higher levels of study.

WQE remains committed to ensuring all of our students complete and achieve the vital underpinning qualifications that can support their ambitious plans for progression and pursuit of future professional careers, so to see so many pass and achieve the highest grades this year in these programmes has been heart-warming, as it opens opportunities for these talented young people to progress further.

Well done to all of our students collecting results in 2024 – you have done brilliantly!
