Entry Qualifications
As part of a level 2 programme a minimum of 5 grade Ds or 3s at GCSE, or equivalent, including English Language.
What will I study?
This course consists of three units:
Unit 1: An introduction to the English Legal System
Unit 2: An introduction to police powers and procedures
Unit 4: An introduction to criminal law and procedure
How will I study?
Students will learn through a variety of teaching methods with teacher led lessons. Students will produce individual projects and assignments involving research which students will be expected to work on their own account. Homework is a regular feature. Law is taught in a well-resourced subject base with the most up to date materials and ICT facilities.
How is the course examined?
This course is 100% coursework and is graded PASS or FAIL. You must complete an assignment for each unit. Completing and passing this course will enable you to achieve a Level 2 qualification equivalent to ONE GCSE at Grade C/4.
Where next?
If you meet the entry requirements you can progress to BTEC Level 3 Applied Law.
What does the course combine well with?
Studying Law links well with English, Psychology, Business Studies and Humanities.
The course is equivalent to one GCSE at Grade C/4.
