Drama students taste top acting conservatoire

A-level Drama students at WQE took part in workshops with industry professionals from the Central School of Speech and Drama on Thursday 25th November.

Year 1 students enjoyed a Musical Theatre workshop and Year 2 students attended an Applied Theatre workshop. The sessions were fun and gave students a taste of what it would be like to attend a top-class Acting Conservatoire.

These were followed by a viewing of a production of ‘Alice’ at the Curve Theatre in Leicester, performed by the school’s third year acting students.

Sharron Brannen, Assistant Curriculum Area Leader for Media and Creative Arts at WQE said: “It was great to have been invited to watch a performance by students as they were just about to launch their careers into the world of theatre. Afterwards, we stayed for a fascinating discussion and Q&A session. We had such a brilliant day!”
