Behind the Headlines: students enjoy The Guardian workshop

Second year Media Studies A-level students enjoyed attending a virtual workshop provided by The Guardian Foundation.

The Behind the Headlines workshop took place on 15th November and tested students on whether certain headlines were fake or real. Using emojis, students showed their votes to The Guardian team via a smart screen.

The award-winning programme empowers young people to understand, critically analyse, engage with and participate in the media.

Victoria Bellamy, Media Studies Teacher at WQE, said: “We gained some valuable information from the newspaper, which is vital for the real exam called Evolving Media. We are looking forward to running live workshops in 2022.”
